Parasyte!?

I've got to admit that it is a nice movie. That's it though. The movie pales in comparison to the manga or the anime. Well, that is to be expected since it is an adaptation of a book. Changing a lot of things in the movie, means that they need to pay any consequence. Since it is only the first half of the movie that I saw, I can not tell a lot about this.

Consequences. Here are some. First, Removing the father from the story affects the story greatly. I mean, where does he get his money now since his only parent is now dead? The father plays an important part for holding stable the emotions of his son. How can this highschool student accept everything that entered his life? Second, changing the killer of his mother and changing the person who rampaged the school grounds. That's going to leave a mark. As far as I know, "A-san" was the one who massacred everyone. huh. Now, A-san killed his mother and swapped. The high school student which transferred was the actual killer now. Which leads to number three, adding the high school student in. He wasn't supposed to kill everything in sight. that's illogical. The main reason they kill is to eat, as far as I remember. In the manga he only killed because of the liquid sprayed on him which triggered an effect in which he can't control his brain. It gave the effect of "Kill" which he can't stop. In the movie however, he was still in his mind when he thought of killing everyone. Let's stop here. There are minor changes too.

Some other points I can point out.
1. It wasn't shown how his right hand can move out of his body. It just happened to do so.
2. His transition from his nerd side to his "kill" side was very vague.
3. He doesn't even show any love interest. He just happened to rescue the girl.
4. The girl saw his hand being a parasyte. In the book, she didn't find out.
5. The "epic" sound effects were TOO OUT OF PLACED. It was seriously annoying. and it messes up the flow of the movie actually.

The last thing I can point out that disturbed me, the time where A-san was about to kill the main character. It was impossible. A-san's attack was redirected by the thought-to-be-dead-but-wow-she-didn't Mother. She moved it with her right hand. This was actually impossible. The parasyte actually eats out the brain and lives in it. Also, the revenge was too early... and accessible. It wasn't so in the manga.

Blablablabla. In the end, the story was still there. the legendary story was still there. Even though it is an adaptation or live action, consistency should always be retained. That, or have a very very good director fix the holes. It is still a good movie. The acting was good, given that the script wasn't made by the actors anyway.

I would rate it a 7/10. I am still generous with my points. It is still a mirror of an epic story. Though the mirror is bent a bit, you can still see the reflection.
